I’ll start off by saying that I am generally a pretty optimistic guy. I would like to think that I have a positive outlook on like and try not to become discouraged when things go wrong. The other day I read another article that promised a cure for diabetes was “just around the corner”. Sorry big media, I’m not buying it. Every year, even multiple times a year, the big media guys make a big deal about some study published about some crack-pot using lab rats to cure Diabetes. Every year, I shake my head and my eyes gloss over.
Year after year of this. And I don’t buy it. Don’t get me wrong, I believe a cure will be found in my lifetime. I’m just not going to buy into this media free-for-all where they get diabetics all pumped up about a potential cure only to find out that they did some crazy thing to a lab rat. I am happy for the rats; They deserve it.
As for me, until my Endocrinologist calls me up or texts me telling me to stop taking insulin, I’m going to hold of on smashing my insulin pump. But when I get the green light, my insulin pump is a gonner!
